Met een snelle analyse en oog voor alle relevante belangen adviseer en begeleid ik cliënten bij de oplossing van ingewikkelde vraagstukken. Begrijpen wat een cliënt beweegt, waar een zaak werkelijk over gaat en wat in de praktijk werkt, is richtinggevend. Het recht heeft alleen in juridische publicaties een zelfstandig belang. Als advocaat, bestuurder of toezichthouder is mijn juridische expertise echter vanzelfsprekend belangrijk en wanneer ik publiceer of doceer, staat het zelfs centraal. Maar mijn motto zou kunnen zijn ‘goed communiceren lost veel meer op dan goed procederen’. En blijf bij voorkeur weg uit de rechtszaal.
With a sharp overview and analysis, I advise and guide clients who have to deal with complex issues. I make it my goal to understand my client’s motivations, the heart of the issue, and to find a solution that will actually work in practice. The law has only a stand-alone value within legal publications. Obviously, legal expertise is a vital aspect of acting as a lawyer, director or supervisor, and it is even central to my work whenever I publish or teach. My main motto, however, is ‘good communication achieves a great deal more than good litigation’. And also: stay out of the courtroom if at all possible.
